Amy Pitts, MBA, BSN, RN, has joined HDR as the medical equipment planning director to lead the growth and companywide coordination of our medical equipment planning service.

With more than 30 years of experience as a registered nurse, Pitts has held bedside and director-level roles in critical access and community hospitals, teaching facilities and trauma systems.

“Having worked many years as a bedside clinician, I know the difficulties and frustrations of spaces that are not well planned,” Pitts said. “I am excited for this opportunity to join a leader in healthcare design and be part of innovative solutions that support patients and healthcare professionals.”

Her experience in care, process improvement and throughput led her to the healthcare engineering and technology industry at Mazzetti+GBA and Philips Healthcare Transformation Services. In her role as a senior technology consultant, Pitts managed medical equipment planning and strategy for multimillion-dollar projects.

“Amy comes to us with extensive clinical experience, operational insight and professional perspective on how best to serve our health clients with rapidly evolving technologies,” said HDR Global Director of Professional Services in Architecture Chris Bormann. “I am excited to see how she enriches our talented team of equipment planners and grows it alongside our health sector.”

Pitts is a registered nurse, holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in health care management, and has won multiple awards for teamwork. She was honored with the WellStar Center of Nursing Excellence Award for Administrative Leadership and Management in 2017.
