Stanley Chiu

Stan is the director of Integrated Project Delivery for our architecture practice based in our Los Angeles studio. While working as an architect in the mid-2000s, Stan first encountered the lean approach to design and construction, a philosophy that emphasizes continuously finding more effective collaboration strategies to achieve better outcomes. The philosophy has been essential to his professional and personal life since, fueling his belief that "there is always a better way." 

He became a prominent figure in lean architecture in pursuit of this belief, playing a key role in developing fundamental tools such as Target Value Design and Set Based Design and serving as board chair for the Lean Construction Institute. Now as director, Stan uses his expertise to expand our IPD expertise. His ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and his commitment to client satisfaction make him a pivotal figure in the organization.  

A decorated industry veteran, Stan has received such prestigious awards as the American Institute of Architects Honor Award and the Society for College and University Planning Excellence in Architecture Award, and is a designated instructor of the Lean Construction Institute. He has been published in multiple publications and presented at national and regional AIA conferences, Design-Build Institute of America and various Hanson Wade conferences.
