Ed Luttrell, P.E.

With more than four decades of hydropower and dam experience, Ed serves as principal for our hydropower practice and specializes in the inspection, engineering design and analysis of hydropower energy facilities. He is often the technical lead on projects for our hydropower clients across the United States, Canada and beyond.

Ed has experience in both dam and hydropower facility safety. He’s managed or participated in more than 200 hydroelectric, flood control and water supply facility technical condition inspection and evaluation projects. He’s also been involved in design studies, rehabilitation designs and evaluations for hydroelectric facilities and dams in 15 countries.  

He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is a member of the National Hydropower Association. His work has been published several times and presented at various dam safety and hydropower conferences.
