HDR Selected to Provide Waste Needs Assessment in Colorado

The Circular Action Alliance selected HDR to conduct the needs assessment for Colorado's new statewide Producer Responsibility program. The state's extended producer responsibility, or EPR, law requires companies that sell packaged and paper products to fund a statewide recycling system for those materials.

A feature article in Waste Advantage magazine outlines HDR’s role in the assessment. Teaming with sustainability consultancy Eunomia Research & Consulting, HDR will help provide critical information about Colorado’s recycling infrastructure to inform a producer-funded statewide recycling program.

"This is a great opportunity to identify areas for improvement across Colorado’s recycling infrastructure and make recommendations to evolve it into a state-of-the-art circular program," said Doug DeCesare, HDR director of global solid waste services. "Our team brings unique expertise in building comprehensive circular economy programs and a collective passion for advancing sustainable and responsible waste management practices.”
