This year’s Healthcare Design Expo & Conference will feature several presentations from our healthcare designers and researchers, awards for recent projects, people, and teams, and a Breaking Through Competition Finals appearance. Here’s the rundown for attendees:
The Healthcare Design Awards Luncheon Sunday, Oct. 9 | Noon CDT
Waldkliniken Eisenberg won the Award of Merit and the Pavilion at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania was recognized as a finalist in the Showcase Awards. In addition, Healthcare Design Magazine has named Anosha Zanjani a Rising Star.
For the first time in the history of the HCD10 Awards, a project team has been named Outstanding Organization. Representatives from the PennFIRST integrated project delivery team responsible for the Pavilion at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania will be recognized at the luncheon.
The Center for Health Design Awards and Changemaker Keynote Monday, Oct. 10 at 8 a.m. CDT
The Center for Health Design has recognized three HDR projects as part of its Evidence-Based Design Touchstone Awards. Great Plains Health received the Platinum Level Award, while the Sheltering Arms Institute and Intermountain Utah Valley Hospital received the Silver Level Award. The Sheltering Arms Institute was also awarded Honorable Mention in the Alternative Settings category of the Healthcare Environment Awards.
The Breaking Through Competition Finals
Monday, Oct. 10 at 2:15 p.m. CDT
Bionica, a conceptual design developed by an HDR team in our Los Angeles architecture studio, was selected as one of four finalists for the Breaking Through Competition. The HDR team will present live at the conference and the winner will be determined by attendee vote following the presentations.
