Abby Scott, NCIDQ, IIDA, LEED AP, has been promoted to interior design principal in HDR’s Omaha, Nebraska, architecture studio. With 21 years of experience in interior design, seven with HDR, Scott has talent for leading and fostering client relationships and a deep knowledge of strategic vision programming for interior spaces, design, materials and furniture selection.

As a studio leader for one of HDR’s Omaha architectural studios, she manages a diverse team of experts and is critical in creating high-performing, interdisciplinary teams that meet technical and design benchmarks to execute projects. She is involved in all phases of interior architectural projects and their management, and serves as the primary contact for clients, consultants, and public agencies. She will continue to be active in mentorship and staff growth through strategic recruitment and development efforts that elevate design at HDR and in the Great Plains office.

“Abby brings a passion and enthusiasm to the studio in Omaha that energizes everyone around her,” said Julie Robertson, NCIDQ, IIDA, HDR interior design director. “She is a true champion for design and an advocate for her team. We are excited for her to step into this new role and bring creative leadership with a strong sense of design to Omaha and the region.”

Over the past seven years, Scott has worked on such notable projects as the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, Kiewit Corporation Global Headquarters, HDR’s Global Headquarters, UNMC Wittson Hall and Wigton Heritage Center, Oriental Trading Company Office Renovation, and Grand Island Regional Medical Center.

“I am extremely excited to expand my role within HDR and the Omaha architecture studio,” Scott said. “My strong belief in the power of good design and the impact quality and strategic decisions have on people is a shared value that we continue to elevate with every project we work on.”

Scott is a member of the International Interior Design Association, Commercial Real Estate Women, and an Allied Member of AIA. She is an NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer and LEED Accredited Professional.
