Three of HDR's commissioning engineers, based in London, U.K., have been named as finalists for this year's Commissioning Specialists Association (CSA) Awards. The awards recognize excellence in 12 categories within the commissioning industry. For the past 10 years, the ceremony has provided a platform and recognition for the industry's talent, drive and contribution to the built environment. This forum is now regarded as one of the leading building engineering services events, and the gala awards dinner is the highlight of the industry’s professional calendar, celebrating innovation and talented engineers.

Adam Murray has been shortlisted for "Commissioning Manager of the Year," while Ashiv Vekaria and Dion Aloysius have been put forward for the "Student of the Year" category. In 2023, Murray won the "Commissioning Engineer of the Year" award for his accomplishments as a young engineer. He has made a consistent and positive contribution to an array of technically challenging and commercially successful projects, while excelling in all CSA distance learning courses. In addition, Murray obtained a bachelor's degree in building engineering services from London South Bank University.

HDR is sponsoring the "Diversity In Commissioning Award," recognizing an organisation that delivers initiatives to enhance equality, diversity and inclusivity within the sector.

"The CSA Awards ceremony has been an important date in our calendars for a decade," said Joe Pitt, HDR commissioning director. "HDR is proud to be an award sponsor this year, and I'm so pleased to see that three of our young engineers — Adam, Ashiv and Dion — have acquired industry recognition at early stages in their respective careers, showcasing their talent, innovation and determination. Their efforts over the past year have played a vital role in our commissioning service offering, and I sincerely hope that they will be involved in inspiring the next generation of engineering talent for years to come."

Winners will be announced at an awards dinner Oct. 2 at the Park Plaza London Riverbank hotel.
