David F. LeCureux

Federal President

As president of our federal practice, David delivers strategic leadership to help clients achieve mission success. He drives growth and fosters innovation while building strong teams that create lasting value for clients and partners.

David joined HDR in 2003 as a project manager with experience in environmental services and has since held roles including area manager, regional business group director, and market sector director. He then served as president of the water practice before becoming chief strategy officer. David understands all aspects of what it takes to develop and deliver solutions for our clients’ most critical needs. He has partnered with clients across public and private sectors in the U.S. and has supported projects globally throughout his career.

Before joining HDR, David worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, starting as an intern and moving through several divisions before shifting to private consulting. He also spent three years as an adjunct professor in the California State University system, teaching applied engineering applications in the computer science department. 

With more than 30 years of experience in domestic and global operations and project management, David brings a strong passion for quality, professional development and business excellence.

David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a Master of Science degree in civil engineering from California State University, Sacramento.
