Austin Ray

Project Manager, Engineering

It's exciting to work with other engineers and mentoring teams who are as passionate as I am about delivering high-quality, resilient infrastructure that supports the growing demand for clean and reliable energy. We have a great opportunity to make a real, measurable difference for our clients and communities through the work that we do.

Austin focuses on power projects in the U.K., Europe, the Middle East and Africa, delivering quality projects and maintaining and improving our high standards of engineering excellence.

He has a wealth of experience in managing teams through the full project life cycle, from development to execution. Ray has completed projects in renewable energy, energy storage, transmission and distribution, network stability and electricity supply restoration over his two decades in the power sector.

He was the lead lender’s technical advisor for five synchronous condenser projects as part of the U.K. National Energy System Operator Stability Pathfinder scheme, helping to secure more than £120 million (about $162 million) of debt financing. These projects provide a combined 1,848-megavolt amperes and a nominal 3,500 megavolt-amperes, short-circuit contribution to help provide stability to the U.K. grid as it transitions to a low-carbon network.

Austin has a bachelor of engineering degree from the Manchester Metropolitan University and a master of science degree from the University of Bath.
