Katharine O'Malley, AIA, WELL AP
Civic Principal
I’m most inspired when helping teams navigate complexity by listening carefully, seeing the big picture and creating thoughtful design solutions that move communities forward.
With more than 15 years of architectural and planning experience, Katharine excels at leading multidisciplinary teams through complex civic, mixed-use and district-scale projects. Her background spans every stage of project development, from strategic planning and client engagement to design detailing and construction administration.
Based in our Boston architecture studio, Katharine is spearheading efforts to expand and diversify the firm’s civic practice across New England. She leads initiatives focused on planning and designing spaces that promote accessibility, reflect community identity and define lasting legacies. In addition to guiding project teams, she plays a critical role in developing trusted client relationships.
Katharine’s commitment to community-focused design extends beyond her project work. In 2024, she was named a "One to Watch – Industry Leader" by the New England Real Estate Journal. She engages with the Winthrop Affordable Housing Committee and has previously served as the director of programs for the Association for Women in Architecture + Design in Los Angeles, where she developed events ranging from project tours to professional development symposia.
