Kirk von Spaeth, AIA

Kirk is on a mission to grow and develop our civic architecture practice in Los Angeles and beyond. A natural connector, Kirk spends his time liaising between project teams and clients. Committed to building high-performance teams, he understands when and how it’s appropriate to bring the whole team together to make important decisions that propel design.

For more than 30 years, Kirk has specialized in sports and recreation design. His portfolio includes over 100 built aquatic and recreation facilities across 35 states and four countries. The complex nature of sports and recreation facilities initially drew him to this typology and designing environments that bring people together and help them stay well continues to inspire him. 

Kirk is committed to building relationships with clients that share our value of delivering sustainable and even regenerative projects that positively impact our world. Harvesting sunlight to heat pools, incorporating solar panels, and utilizing mass timber are some unique ways he establishes green energy in projects. 

Mentorship is a top priority for Kirk. He is always happy to volunteer his time to help colleagues self-reflect and find the courage within themselves to seize opportunities that advance their careers.
