Ryan is a national transit expert who brings valuable perspective to implementing innovations and best practices in transit. He has a track record of bringing constructability and maintenance into the forefront of design conversations allowing clients to make informed decisions. Ryan believes challenging designs drive innovation that can have savings in construction and lasting benefits for system maintenance without increasing project cost. His passion for emerging technology and his interest in low/no emissions vehicles keep him working on the forefront of transit design and construction.

He has led and advised a variety of transit projects around the United States and the globe. In the Twin Cities, he has served Metro Transit in a variety of capacities including leading the design and construction oversight of our work on the C and D bus rapid transit lines. Globally his work includes the Lowcountry Rapid Transit in South Carolina, the Kansas City Streetcar and Jinan Transit Study.

Ryan’s passion is working on transit projects that will create opportunities within the communities they connect. He loves helping bring to life transit projects that are easy to use, attractive to riders and leave a legacy for future generations.

He's committed to sharing his knowledge throughout the industry. He’s served as a coworker mentor and actively involved in WTS and the American Public Transportation Association and graduated from the APTA Emerging Leaders program in 2016. He has presented on a variety of transit-related topics, including “Snow! Winter Weather Rail Maintenance” at the 2016 APTA rail conference and “BRT: Designing More Than a Roadway” at the 2018 APTA bus and paratransit conference.
