Sophia supports the continued growth and integration of project controls services across our transportation practice. As project controls lead, she plays a key role in tracking the scope, schedule and budget performance of our projects and programs. 

Sophia also works closely with project control leads from our other markets as well as program management leadership to align best practices to advance project controls initiatives. 

With 25 years of scheduling, claims, cost controls and construction management expertise at construction management and construction firms, Sophia brings firsthand field experience across a wide range of transportation modes including aviation, transit, rail, roads, bridges, tunnels and maritime.

Sophia credits key experiences that shaped her passion for project controls and the importance of planning ahead to achieve a goal. She provided multidisciplinary project controls leadership for several contracts on two multibillion-dollar transit projects in New York: East Side Access and the Second Avenue Line. As a project controls lead on the LaGuardia Terminal B Redevelopment Program, she was challenged with how to coordinate 14 unique projects across disciplines while not shutting down an active airport. A monumental undertaking, the project reinforced the importance of functioning as a team to accomplish a common goal.
