Tim Ward, P.E.

Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia Aviation Lead

“Airports are like small cities with many critical parts that overall make the difference for all passengers as well as the many employees who work there every day. I love having the opportunity to work on the many different parts that make airports an enjoyable and unique destination in themselves.”

With more than 15 years in the aviation field, Tim has firsthand experience with the wide range of diverse, interconnected aviation projects that we have the resources and technical knowledge to support. His core projects include runways, taxiways and aprons, as well as terminal modernization projects including baggage handling systems, hydrant fueling systems, boarding bridges, roadways, parking lots, utilities, airspace and site development projects. Tim serves as a senior technical advisor and project manager as well as a mentor to many of our talented young professionals.

Experienced with a broad range of airside, terminal and landside programs, Tim has gained valuable perspective through his involvement in a wide variety of projects and positions. He is a go-to resource within our firm and for our clients when planning and developing complex airfield pavement projects. Tim recently served as the design and construction project manager for the innovative runway 4-22 rehabilitation at Blue Grass Airport, where the entire commercial runway was repaved and rehabilitated to upgraded safety standards within a rigorously planned 72-hour window. He is known for his dedication to his clients and commitment to quality.

An active leader in the aviation industry, Tim is involved with the American Society of Civil Engineers Airfield Pavement Committee and co-authored a paper on subgrade improvement methodologies for airfield pavements. In 2020, he was recognized in Aviation Business magazine’s “Top 40 Under 40” list as well as an ENR Mid-Atlantic Top Young Professional in 2021. In 2022, he received the WTS Pittsburgh chapter Honorable Ray LaHood Award.
