The Digital Transformation of The Built Environment

According to Forbes, global spending on digital transformation will reach almost $3.9 trillion by 2027, with the surge representing 55% growth from 2023 reports. Global enterprises now face a new inflection point characterized by exponential change, with emerging technologies that are redefining both the ways in which companies work and what is possible.

McKinsey has reported that an estimated 90% of all organizations are currently undergoing some kind of digital transformation. Top-performing companies are demonstrating that achieving strategic differentiation on customer engagement and innovation, developing proprietary assets such as artificial intelligence (AI), data and software, alongside a focus on attracting executives with digital proficiency, are all critical to capturing value.

For organizations to undergo transformation, it is imperative that leadership embraces such technologies, setting the required example, while nurturing a culture that reinforces a company's values. Results show that success requires both digital-savvy leaders and a workforce with the capabilities to make a digital transformation’s changes happen, which other McKinsey research also confirms.
