HDR’s Joel Griffin Contributes to Esri Article on Modernizing Utility Networks
Joel Griffin, GISP, recently led groundbreaking ArcGIS work for the San Juan Water District and contributed to the publication of the Esri article Engineering into the Future: Modernizing with ArcGIS.
The article included lessons learned, and Joel shared his experience on the SJWD project. As a senior GIS analyst based in Folsom, California, Joel has been partnering with Esri on a software extension, which greatly enhances the modeling capabilities with ArcGIS.
Learn more in the article about how the SJWD migrated its system data to a single enterprise data source, the Utility Network. The Utility Network is easy to share with field crews, giving them the ability to run advanced network analytics using network traces. Advanced tracing capabilities identify system and customer impact during outages, which helps engineering and operations proactively determine areas exposed to potential vulnerabilities. It is integrated with asset management and customer information systems, providing much-needed access for office and field staff.
