Gravity Condition Assessment on the United States' Aging Collection Systems

The need for infrastructure replacement and rehabilitation is urgent in the U.S., particularly for wastewater systems. According to a 2016 U.S. Environment Protection Agency estimate, $271 billion will be required over the next 25 years, with $51.2 billion earmarked for rehabilitating and repairing existing conveyance systems. 

As these systems age, their deterioration intensifies, leading to increased funding needs. Utilities and collection system owners must prioritize projects and allocate resources effectively, relying on condition assessments to identify critical areas requiring attention and to maintain system integrity.
