Our engineering team was appointed to work on The Beaumont — a prestigious 5* Grade II listed hotel, located in Mayfair, London. The hotel is spread across five stories with 22 high-end suites, and 50 guestrooms and studios, alongside a collection of luxury amenities. We refurbished The Colony Grill restaurant, Le Magritte Bar, lounge and alfresco dining terrace. We also worked on the expansion of the spa and gym facilities and the creation of a new Mayfair Suite.
The hotel was closed to the public as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but reopened its doors again in August 2021, with guests able to discover the refurbished spaces and new additions to the hotel’s service offering. Working with our client, St James, we helped achieve the renovation and refurbishments through providing the following services:
- Public Health/Plumbing
It’s All in the Detail
Our skilled engineers have executed MEP work to the highest standard, with the inclusion of important design details, that will elevate the guest experience at The Beaumont. These include the brushed copper electrical accessories, concealed speakers in the gym facilities and mirrored televisions in the bathrooms of the large suites. Ventilation grilles have been concealed behind joinery details within the Mayfair suite in order to condition the room without compromising the architectural design and prestige of the suite. This was a task we worked close with RSA Architects on, to strike the right balance of form versus function.
Additional Luxury Upgrades — The Mayfair Suite
An element of the renovation was the transformation of the three existing rooms and studios to form one larger 2-bedroom suite, known as the Mayfair Suite. The new suite overlooks Brown Hart Gardens. New services were incorporated, working with interior designer The Office of Thierry W Despont, such as powered curtains, lighting and mirrored televisions in the bathrooms. Additional features include a sitting room adorned with artwork, technology including U.K. and U.S. outlets and USB connections, and a marble bathroom.
Prestigious Public Spaces
We have also been instrumental in the expansion of the space and gym facilities, doubling the size of the gym and adding an additional relaxation/treatment room and male changing room.
Le Magritte Bar has been remodeled which meant we had to reposition the bar and services to facilitate the new layout without disrupting the traditional interior design. Similarly, The Colony Grill has had a refresh by our team alongside lighting refurbishment undertaken by DPA Lighting Consultants.
The air conditioning has been concealed in public areas to retain the aesthetic of the hotel while keeping guests comfortable. Finally, in the reception area and grand lobby, our team has refurbished and cleaned existing mechanical equipment and replaced existing electrical services.
