Modern Headquarters Designed to Promote Brand and Workplace Wellness
When Cooper Companies, a global medical device company, needed a new headquarters, they selected HDR to create modern yet timeless workspace. Working closely with Cooper Companies and key stakeholders, HDR’s design team established a clear understanding of the company culture and the specific needs of each department.
In the newly renovated space, the reception area provides visitors and clients with a modern and sophisticated experience through the combined elements of the wood slat ceiling, floating gypsum board soffit ceiling, and wood shelving. Mosaic photo ‘tiles’ are integrated into the wood shelving, highlighting the organization’s products, people, places and activities. A large video wall placed behind the reception desk also enforces Cooper Companies’ brand and messaging.
The town hall area, with ample daylight and flexible seating, anchors the new space. Mimicking the design language of the reception area with cohesive wood elements, an exposed ceiling and a moss wall— the design provides staff with a fresh, cohesive and multi-use space. By taking advantage of the exterior deck, the town hall brings nature and biophilic design elements into the space.
Working closely with the organization’s branding, our design team thoughtfully integrates the vision for Cooper Companies into all aspects of the design — circulation area, break areas, conference room, and meeting rooms. With seamless incorporation of the design, brand, and natural elements, the new headquarters for the Cooper Companies will give their staff a modern and healthy new working environment.
