HDR Fellowship Program

Inspiring Bright Ideas to Meet the Most Pressing Needs of Our Clients and Communities

We established the HDR Fellowship Program to inspire ingenuity in our work.

It reinforces the importance of professional excellence and provides appropriate recognition for leaders in our industry. Each year, a select few HDR employees are chosen for the program. They conduct applied research within our markets.

The goal of the program is to develop creative solutions for technical and design issues facing our clients. We seek to advance the state of the art and expand our range of service offerings. The fellowships last one year with budgets set aside for time and expenses to complete research.

“The Fellowship Program is an ideal way for us to foster thought leadership,” said Eric Keen, chairman. “By giving our employees the resources they need to pursue their ideas or research a need in the industry, we are not only helping them, but we are potentially developing better solutions for our clients.”

Employees enjoy the opportunity to apply their expertise outside of typical projects.

“Our fellows see ways to enrich their careers,” said Brad Johnson, P.E., professional services director. “And they strengthen our position and reputation within the industry.”

As an employee-owned company, we are encouraged to pursue our professional passions.

Fellows Bring Ingenuity to Clients, Communities

In 2023, four employees will lead applied research projects to develop creative solutions for technical and design issues — including bridge management practices, bioconvergence facility design guidelines, and water treatment processes.
