Cedars-Sinai has reimagined three spaces within West Hollywood’s iconic Pacific Design Center into a dynamic North Campus for scientific research, designed by HDR to meet the complex demands of high-performance labs in a non-traditional setting. Despite architectural and infrastructure constraints, the team delivered vibrant, functional environments for stem cell research, cancer immunotherapy and microbiome science, leveraging building information modeling, virtual reality and thoughtful lighting and design to foster collaboration, attract top talent and reflect the building’s cultural legacy.
