Education & Science Associate Principal

As the leader of San Diego's architecture studio, Valerie is a champion for design excellence with two decades of experience as an architect and project leader. She brings experience designing healthcare and education facilities, laboratories, public works buildings and urban parks for clients invested in cutting-edge research, patient-centered care and energy-efficient operations. In her role, she directs and designs award-winning technically complex facilities for private, non-profit and federal clients. A design-oriented collaborator known for building consensus amongst designers, contractors, clients and community stakeholders, she has previously provided project leadership on paradigm-shifting projects such as Cedars-Sinai Biomanufacturing Center and the Orange County Sanitation District Headquarters Complex.

Actively involved in the San Diego design and business community, Valerie is part of the San Diego Chamber of Commerce LEAD Influence 2023 cohort. She is also a respected thought leader in science and design industries, having presented at the Lab Design Conference and BisNow's Life Sciences Corporate Real Estate Conference, and contributed to Lab Manager.
